Solo staycation

Friday, 30 April 2021 - Looking back, it's hard to imagine we went through three whole years of COVID-19 restrictions. In April 2021, things were starting to look up. Borders were still closed, we still couldn't travel, but things were looking up... Until they didn't. A new variant, new clusters, renewed restrictions...

On 30 April 2021 I was on staycation, making use of my SingapoRediscovers vouchers to book a package at the Four Points by Sheraton, near Robertson Quay. Got a pretty good deal. I only ended up paying $98 for a night, which included breakfast and an additional $88 dining credit. Spent pretty much the entire time in the hotel, sitting at the bay window, watching the clouds and the traffic go by, rading book after book after book. It was the best kind of boredom. The kind you accept and then embrace. It's been such a long time since I was bored on purpose. I should do it again some day.
